- 1 1/2 cups Beef broth

Prepare the Mashed Potatoes:
Boil potato chunks in salted water until fork-tender (15 minutes). Drain and return to the pot.
Mash potatoes, then gradually stir in warm milk and melted butter. Season with salt and pepper.
Cook the Ground Beef:
Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into small pieces. Drain excess fat.
Add diced onion and cook until softened (5 minutes).
Make the Gravy:
Whisk cornstarch with 1/4 cup cold beef broth until smooth.
